Basic Computer Tutorial your first step on way to computer mastery.

I am going to begin a basic computer tutorial. This course is dedicated to the person who is just starting out using a computer and will begin with the most basic of tasks and gradually move up to the more advanced tasks. The goal of the training course is to get the beginner enough computer knowledge so they can feel very confident using a computer.

Why am I teaching a Basic Computer Tutorial.

Well the idea to create this course actually came from my mother. She was so fascinated about how I used a remote control program (which I talk about on my site) called crossloop to control her pc and resolve a problem she had. I of course thought nothing of it. However, she was so thrilled and excited she had learned something new.

A few days later she sent me an email about how she feels intimidated by my father and brothers because they are so knowledgeable about the computer. Also she said she would come to my site everyday and see what I had posted. So I decided to create a course for everyone who is not as computer literate as they would like be but is anxious to learn.

This course is completely free of charge please spread the word so others can benefit and participate. Click the share this icon to share this great site with your family and friends. The more people the more questions and insights we get and the better the forum or the community is. I am going to create a link to a forum where you can ask me as well as others computer related questions, share experiences, interact and in general have fun learning about computers.

My hope is to create a virtual classroom where you learn at your own pace and interact when and if you like with others also interested in learning. The only thing I ask is please be nice and courteous to others.

What qualifications do I have to teach a basic computer tutorial.

Technical Background

I have used computers for over 25 years and been working in the Information Technology field for about 7 years. I hold several professional certifications (MCSA 2000, MCSE 2000, CCNA, CCNP, SCSA 7.0 and A+). Presently I am the lead Network Engineer responsible for network connectivity, design, maintenance and implementation for a governmental agency.

Educational Background

I have a B.A. and M.A. and over 15 years of instructional experience teaching adults at the local Community College. I consistently garner outstanding student evaluations both those done by the institution and those done anonymously online by former students.

What will be included in the Basic Computer Tutorial.

This basic computer tutorial starts at the absolute beginning. I try to pretend like the person I am explaining it to has never seen a computer before. Here is the beginning curriculum if you have any suggestions please send them by clicking here and filling in the comment form.

Although I may complete more than one course a week I would recommend you do a session of the basic computer tutorial only once a week, just like the College course I teach. There maybe some exercises to help you understand the material better. Please complete them.

Anyways this is the initial syllabus for the basic computer tutorial:
