This article is going to deal with where to find and be able to download free computer games.

I am certain all you want to do is find free computer games without having to scour the internet and deal with tons of pop-ups, banners and ploys. I had to do this until I stumbled across the sites below which are links to the best of the freebies or have some of the free games on the site.

I believe there are two broad categories of free computer games. The first category is free computer games that you have to download. The other category is free computer games that you play while you are on the internet (you do not or could not download them). I give a brief review of each site as well as which category it falls into. Some of these sites fall into both (which I state).

Also I try to mention the genre (or style of game) as described on the site.

You can download free computer games by going to this site and clicking on the various links. There are no ratings for the games so it is pretty much trial and error to find one that you like but it still is a good list. It is important to note two things:

1. The games are legal.
2. The games downloaded are full versions.

This is the one-stop shop with a huge variety of different games in just about every genre, style and category. It is a very complete site that has something for just about everyone. Unfortunately most of the games are of the download variety but many of them are rather good.

Free online role playing games

If role-playing games are your thing this site offers some great place to download free computer games both online and in download format. The site also has screenshots, a brief explanation and whether or not the game is really and truly free. A lot of the games you find when you do a google search have a “free trial period” but aren’t actually free. Most of the games on this site require a download.

Free Flash and Java Style games.

All you need is macromedia flash or Java and you can play these games almost all of them don’t require a download. This is great for when you cannot download the software but still have some time to kill.

If you love Sudoko puzzles this site claims to have billions. I haven't had a chance to count them yet. It also come in several different languages which is nice. You do not need to download anything from this site
