Such as where is the best place to get it, what is it, and how does one use it once it is installed. Where do I get free radio on the internet? There are tons of free radio sites on the internet but here are a few of the best of the best as well as some of my comments about them. If you have additional comments please send them to me.
Pros: Allows you to select music by artist and group and then it picks similar artists or groups and sets up a radio station based on that. You can also search by song and station (if you know the one you want). Can share stations and the site has a blog and a podcast as well. Cons: Takes a while to load the initial screen and you cannot browse by genre.
Pros: You can search on just about anything that you want in your advanced search. Artist, Cd, Track, Station, Genre. Also there is a talk radio section with comedy, news etc. Has a forum so can communicate with other users. Cons: Some of the stations you like may be VIP which means you have to pay a subscription to them to listen to them.
Pros: Allows you to search by name of station, genre, country and sort radio stations that are English. Also there is a talk radio section with comedy, news etc. Cons: There is no song and album or artist search so you are kind of forced into listening to the sites based on browsing them.
Pros: no commercials, can search by album, artist, song, did I mention no commercials. There is a user forum and you can share you songs with others. Cons: It is user supported so you could be guilted into paying. Of course if you have no guilt it is free. Limited genre or category search, there are only 8. Four are countries, the US in included, the others are Electro, Hip-Hop, Rock and Ambiance.
Pros: Can create playlists with artists and songs. Cons: You can make as many playlists as you like, but there are no more than three songs allowed on the playlist from the same artist. Also you are required to register. Has only a handful of stations.
Pros: Can select station based on artist, song and genre. Can offer feedback to them. Cons: The intro site screen takes awhile to download and is annoying. What is free internet radio Internet radio is radio that involves the streaming of the radio station over the world wide web instead of over radio or wireless means. Internet radio is great for people who do not fit into the mainstream as far as radio stations and enjoy different genres of music typically shunned by traditional radio media. Examples of this are sports radio listeners, progressive rock, classic rock, 24 comedy, 24 hour news listeners. Most free internet radio stations are supported through ads or donations from the users. How to use an internet radio That really varies based on the site that is being used. Some sites require you to register and others do not. Some sites install a script or spyware others (like the ones above) do not. The sites above are very simple to use and that is why I chose them.
